In 1979, I graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Elementary Education and worked for Central Wyoming Disabilities & Wyoming Adult Disabilities for 4 years as an Educator/ Workshop Trainer for special needs adults.I was first introduced to Herbal Medicine by my Grandmother and I have very fond memories of making soap with my Father. Being a student of Yoga for many years the green of the earth started to call to me. In 1982 I moved to Florida and I took my first herbalist course from Clayton College by mail and just fell in love. My children were raised on Herbal Medicine and my daughter still uses some of the remedies I taught her as a child . After much reading of Gladstar, I enrolled in her online courses and found her style of teaching a breath of fresh air but still wanted a more clinical study because I wanted to teach others how to heal themselves. In 1989, I enrolled in The School of Botanical Medicine in Orlando, FL. This comprehensive herbal studies program was almost 3 years long at that time, I went on to take two graduate level clinical courses there as well. I have also studied intensively with other respected herbalists and continue my studies actively to be able to share my knowledge of the body and its amazing knowledge to heal itself .
I'm a member of the American Herbalists Guild (A.H.G) For more information on the Guild, visit their website at www.americanherbalistsguild.com. I have taught classes in Herbal Medicine, Organic Skin Care, and Natural Soap Making throughout the southeast, including the Women's Herbal Conference and the Florida Sustainable Agriculture Conference. I have also presented workshops at natural food stores, herb shops, and health clubs.
The Studios of FSHH offers the widest range of education to be found on Soap Making, Natural Bath & Body products, Natural Cleaning Supplies, Reiki, Natural Cheese Making, Yoga, Martial Arts/ Self Defense, Sewing/Quilting/ Needle Felting, Wine Making, and Herbalism.
