This program is designed to introduce the student to the theory and use of herbs as a healing modality. It includes an introduction to botany, herb preparation and study of Western with some common used Asian and Chinese herbs that have filtered into our Western Tradition. Healing embraces a clinical strategy based on the principle that Life, Nature, and the Spirit from which they arise are fully present in all the tissues of the body, the psyche, the heart, and the soul. Master Herbalists employ clinical strategies and methods, which support life force through encouragement of nourishment, digestion, rest, and appropriate activity, identification of purpose, connection with nature, and identification and removal of obstacles to cure on all levels.
